SUMMER 2021: we are associated with several programs of the FF de Natation, supported by the community of municipalities Morvan Sommets Grands Lacs, in particular so that our young people (and others) discover the pleasures of the lake ... We have therefore set up a teen internship based around water activities and in particular no longer being afraid to swim in the lakes: for this for 5 days, every day, our young people supervised by Nicolas, MNS, under the leadership of Aqua58, had various sessions: test of their autonomy, various games, and perhaps especially aquatic rescue. Despite the not terrible weather conditions for the beginning of August, it was a real beautiful story and beautiful memories for this great group of teenagers.

A great initiative from Fabrice and UFOLEP 58 in this very sad month of March: an ECD is a Distanced Timed Training ... all on a 14 km circuit around the base, the good old technical trail imagined by Cédric , marked out by Christophe, Noel, Thierry and Cédric. A great time to redo and generalize to other practices, Trail in particular.

Saturday 12/15: night out. Cold, rain then freezing rain .. a real ice rink but a nice outing around Chateau-Chinon. We met the trail runners and walkers afterwards at the base for an evening of mulled wine and soup! Perfect to end the year!
Federal Patent training, let's go for 5 of us, supervised by Fabrice, Ufolep 58 and Vincent, National Technical Advisor. Despite the rain, 10 young boars came to serve as guinea pigs. In addition, 4 strong boars tried to outsmart the elements! Ok, one of them is Breton and used to the flood .... but the others ???
Ride together and share time afterwards ... Simple things, a moment of happiness, an unalterable memory .... that's mountain biking !!!

Climatic contrast one week later: only water: departure from the settons to the Gouloux jump and back. Lake water. Water from the river and its tributaries. Water from the sky !!!!
After the morning cleaning work, a lunch in the sun (for a November 3rd, it's not bad!), We made the choice to evolve on the banks of Pannecière, taking advantage of its very (very) low level. We have thus avoided branches as much as possible ... even if it means really getting out of the way !!
Saturday November 3. After the week's damage to the trees following the first snowfalls, the young people gave a big hand in cleaning the mountain bike trails and the base. So a bit special session this morning ... Big thank you to all!
First weekend of a major project: the GTMC ... at least the GTM together .... 3 first steps done. For some Sundays, the choice fell on the Frimas, an essential hike from Quarré.
20 km of real Morvandiau circuit around Chateau-Chinon and Saint Léger. Big well deserved snack afterwards!
Saturday morning training under a beautiful autumn sun. Work on the base circuit then out into the forest in single track areas. A delight !
For the technical work of our (big) fifteen young fans of the mountain biking section, Cédric has just carried out a seesaw, an essential element to continue technical learning on the internal circuit at the nature base.
17 young people (from 10 years old) supervised by Cédric, Stef, Thierry, Thomas, Léa and a volunteer dad first worked in the base, on the circuit combining driving and handling exercises before riding on the first single-track from the surrounding communal forest.
Our mountain bike section was born in September 2017. After a year of existence, it seemed to us, following strong demand, normal and necessary to open to the youngest (over 10 years) from September 2018. Under the direction from Cédric, a first group of young people met on the morning of July 14 .... They are the first in a long history ....

Confinement : take care of you TIO's! In the meantime, there are a lot of things to do: maintain your mountain bike (yes, yes, for some it will be useful! Learn to do mechanics: there are plenty of tutorials. Stay still (we launched a contest), jump boards (without breaking the pedal) in bunny up, "trialize" a little ..... On the way back we will have some surprises on new material !!
Continuation of the work of the base: shape and ride of almost spring. A new trial module, a springboard, a pallet table ... Cleaning of downhill mountain biking tracks. Thank you young people!
Carto hike outing. Points on the map to reach .... We took advantage of a beautiful February sun!

- we arrive in the helmet base and we enter the bike by hand
- we greet (adults and children) with the common “check” of hello.
- we go to the technical control (in pairs, under the watchful eye of a supervisor who then issues a retro-reflective armband, testifying to the control carried out). 5 POINTS must ALWAYS be checked on the MTB: the saddle, the stem, the tightening of the wheels, the brakes, the inflation. We add of course to the HELMET and another point: check that nothing is dragging and could get caught in the chain or the wheel: laces, bag straps etc.
- we warm up with games then.
At the end of the session,
- we wash the bike,
- we will make the armband retro-reflective and we will collect our things
- we "check" to say goodbye. We go out on foot and still wearing a helmet.

1 ° The discovery of mountain biking and the improvement of its practice through an original learning process: technical fundamentals and transversal knowledge (mechanics, map reading, safety, etc.).
2 ° An educational progression aimed at making young people complete mountain bikers. This is the reason why our young people will acquire skills gradually. The acquisition of a certain level will be validated by bicycle chain links of different colors.
3 ° The pleasure of mountain biking with friends, meet in the MO² base
This system brings together: children, parents, guides, leaders and association leaders.
The KID BIKE is UFOLEP's response to the many societal issues surrounding the practice of cycling: mobility (going to school, to the sports club, etc.), access to sports, the fight against sedentary lifestyle, education in road safety, respect for the environment,….
